a day late, but since it's supposed to hit 105degreez today, I'll slap in 8/27/72, it's a hot weather type of show.

to be fair, the first part of the first set is nothing special, finally at mexicali and bertha, things pick up, china>rider is fantastic and the playing is huge...he's gone is the europe '72 version before they put the descending figure jam at the end after the coda, greatest story is very well done, then the bird song is probably the best one, dark star>el paso is cathartic with a beautiful segue and the sing me back home is perfect...all in all a classic show in a classic setting, a handful of the tunes are arguably in the top 1-5 respectively, what's not to love? 05-11-1972, 09-28-1972 would maybe be my next 2, then a bunch of Europe and Sept-Nov shows...1972 is chock loaded with nuggets...
